Lorelie - Large, 3/5 eye roots
'Lorelei' is an improvement in depth of color over standard coral varieties. This variety has very bright, very large, upright blooms that are orange/pink/coral/apricot, and truly unique. The blooms slowly fade through many different shades, and because of this, large established plants in the landscape become treasured additions that put on an impressive display.
Very sought after and sometimes difficult to find. A trending variety that will likely become more common in years to come.
Cut flower growers that aim to serve high end markets should start planting and propagating this variety now.
From the American Peony Society-
"Parentage Harold Wolfe Lacti seeder x Good Cheer. First bloomed about 1980. Herbaceous hybrid, deep orange pink, color passes to apricot-orange. Medium-sized bomb, sweet spicy fragrance, good substance, most reliable. Excellent strength, 26″ in height, mid-season bloom. Medium green, conspicuously veined foliage. Single bud per stem. Certificate of merit."
